A "Visioning" Exercise
If I had all of the time, money, and talent in the world, I would do many things. I have added perfect physical and mental health, and provided my list of ideas for 5 different categories as part of this "visioning" exercise.
Education
1. Study medicine (this was my initial field of study when I was young),
2. Learn Python programming language (I only know the basics),
3. Learn French,
4. Learn Japanese,
5. Learn to play the guitar, piano, and violin,
6. Study nutrition,
7. Learn how to pilot a plane,
8. Study religion,
9. Master public speaking, and
10. Learn how to train dogs.
Job or Research
1. Neurosurgeon,
2. Research the brain and brain-related condition (incurable as of today),
3. Philanthropist,
4. Data Scientist,
5. Big data professor,
6. Volunteer to teach others in third-world countries,
7. Write a book,
8. Opera singer,
9. Chef, and
10. Dancer.
Philosophical or Religious
1. Know the Bible by heart,
2. Pray the Rosary by heart (I still rely on a book for guidance),
3. Attend a spiritual retreat (I attended one when I was very young),
4. Visit a sweat lodge,
5. Practice “the secret” (visualization),
6. Master meditation,
7. Study the philosophy of faith, 8. What happens after we die?,
9. Is reincarnation real?, and
10. Travel back in time and meet Jesus Christ.
Travel
1. Other galaxies,
2. France
3. Spain,
4. Italy,
5. Greece,
6. Egypt,
7. Japan,
8. Jerusalem,
9. Thailand,
10. Tepic, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí, and Durango (Mexican states I have not yet been to).
Home
1. Turn our 640-acre property into a working ranch,
2. Build the home of our dreams on our 640-acre property,
3. Dig another well,
4. Build a small-plane runway,
5. Build a vacation home in Bahía De Los Angeles (Baja California Sur, México),
6. Upgrade our Colorado home with a chef’s kitchen,
7. Build a complete outdoor kitchen,
8. Install solar panels,
9. Add a large library, and
10. Learn about and use natural home cleaners only.
These ideas show my interests in medicine, the brain, and passion for life-long learning. They also show I am not much for travel, except México, but would not mind traveling overseas to experience other cultures, especially their local cuisine. I do not consider myself a religious person, but one who values faith instead. I am close to turning my dream home into a reality and see myself and my family enjoying ranch life away from the city noise and crowds, growing our own food, and having several animals to tend to.
